A smoothie is the perfect way to energize your morning, to refresh your afternoon or to end your day. It is so versatile that it can be your breakfast in the morning, your refreshing drink on a hot summer afternoon or your healthy dessert in the evening. A fresh smoothie is tasty, so filling, and definitely a healthier option than ice cream.
Recently I’ve tried to add more greens to my diet, and so I discovered a new smoothie recipe that does just that. It is the easiest way to get my daily dose of fruits and vegetables and a great source of natural energy – it can even replace coffee. To be honest, at the beginning I was reluctant to try any green smoothies because of the leafy, veggie taste, but the added banana made everything sweet and drinkable, and it gave my blend a creamy texture.ย Even if you are not a green smoothie person, you can definitely try this one.
The added ginger in this recipe reduces inflammation and allows the body to recover faster. It is one of the most powerful anti-inflammatory foods, more powerful than even some drugs. It also relieves some digestive problems and it lowers blood sugars.
For this anti-inflammatory smoothie I used :
One cup coconut water
One handful of spinach
2 celery stalks
Half of a cucumber
One big banana
One knob of Ginger
It was refreshing, creamy and even tasty!ย This encourages me to be more adventurous and to experiment with more greens in the future.
But for now, if you have any inflammation or if you just want to feel good, make yourself a refreshing, anti inflammatory green smoothie, and stay happy and healthy! Cheers!
