I love Valentine’s Day! It is a worldwide celebration of love and the day of romance that makes people exchange cards, flowers and gifts. I know some people love to hate this celebration and consider it meaningless, but since we celebrate National Cheeseburger Day, why wouldn’t we celebrate love too?
Love is good and important, and while I am not suggesting that we should spend a fortune on extravagant gifts, I do believe that we can celebrate this day each on our own way, at least with a glass of wine, and marvel at the wonder that brought and kept two people together.
And while I embrace any opportunity to celebrate – especially love, I think that it is what we do every day that matters. Anyone can say “I love you”, but it takes real commitment to DO love and to BE love. Let’s don’t forget about the other 355 days of the year. Let’s try to remember, as often as we can, about love and about the joy it brings.
Happy Valentine’s Day!
