Around The Web is a new series on my blog where I round up my favorite articles and share them with you. I’ve read so many great articles this month and this post series gives me the chance to highlight the ones that stuck with me. MindBodyGreen – The Lost Art Of Apologizing
A nice reminder that apologizing does not make us weaker; it makes us stronger and it may even change our lives. We are all weak and we all make mistakes. Often times people associate apologizing with vulnerability and weakness. In fact, apologizing takes courage and willpower. It makes us humans and it’s fundamental to building lasting, meaningful relationships.
The researchers at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Centre in Seattle genetically reprogramed the T-cell to seek out, recognize and destroy the patient’s tumor cells. The patients were in their last stages of cancer, but a single doze of this therapy put more than 90% of these blood cancer patients in complete remission. I know this is just a trial and it is still considered a baby step, but given the fact that I lost two very dear people to cancer (my mother-in-law and a friend) I am optimistic that the near future will bring a solution and a cure for this terrible disease.
The overwhelming conclusion is: YES, we can! Researchers have come up with several habits that can help to make happiness last. I especially like habit number 3.
